Board of Directors

Stephen A. Wells has served as a director of our company since 1996 and as Chairman since 2006. He is President of Wells Resources, Inc., a privately owned oil, gas and ranching company. Mr. Wells’ career includes serving as a director and CEO of Avista Resources, an oil recycling technology company, as a director and CEO of Coastwide Energy Services, a Gulf Coast marine terminal operator, and as a director and CEO of Grasso Corporation, an oil and gas production management services company. 

Cindy B. Taylor has served as a Class I director of the Company since 2007.  She has served the company as an executive since 2000, first as Senior VP, CFO and Treasurer, then President and COO and now as President and CEO.  Prior to Oil States, she was CFO of L.E. Simmons & Associates, a private equity firm specializing in oilfield service investments, the VP Controller of Cliffs Drilling Company, and she held various management positions with Ernst & Young LLP. Mrs. Taylor is a director of Global Industries (NASDAQ: GLBL), which provides worldwide construction and support services to the offshore oil and gas industry, and of Tidewater (NYSE: TDW), the world's largest operator of vessels serving the oil and gas industry. She holds a B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Martin Lambert has served as a director of our company since 2001. He is currently CEO of Swan Hills Synfuels L.P., an in situ coal gasification firm founded by Matco Capital, a private equity firm that Mr. Lambert co-founded in 2001. Mr. Lambert currently serves as a director of two other public companies: Calfrac Well Services (Toronto: CFW.TO) and Zedi Inc. (TSX VEN: ZED), both of which are involved in oilfield services. He holds an L.L.B. from the University of Alberta.

S. James Nelson has served as a director of our company since 2004. Prior to this he served as Director of Cal Dive International (now Helix Energy Solutions Group), a subsea construction company and operator of offshore oil and gas properties and production facilities. At Cal Dive he also served as VP and CFO and then Vice Chairman. Before this, Mr. Nelson was Senior VP and CFO of Diversified Energies, the former parent of Cal Dive, which succeeded his position as CFO of Apache Corporation, an oil and gas exploration and production company. Earlier in his career he served as partner at Arthur Andersen, working on the firm's worldwide oil and gas industry team. Mr. Nelson is a director and a member of the Audit Committee of ION Geophysical Corp. (formerly Input/Output, Inc.) (NYSE: IO), a seismic services provider and W&T Offshore, Inc. (NYSE: WTI), an oil and gas exploration and production company. He holds a B.S. in accounting from Holy Cross College and a M.B.A. from Harvard University. Mr. Nelson is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mark G. Papa has served as a director of our company since 2001. He has held various management positions at EOG Resources (NYSE: EOG), an oil and gas exploration and production company, and is currently Chairman of the Board and CEO of EOG. He holds a petroleum engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.B.A. from the University of Houston.

Gary L. Rosenthal has served as a director of our company since 2001. He is currently a principal in The Sterling Group, a private equity firm, and formerly served as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Hydrochem Holdings, Inc. Prior to this Mr. Rosenthal served as President of Heaney Rosenthal Inc., a private investment company, and as CEO of AXIA Incorporated, a diversified manufacturing company. Mr. Rosenthal holds J.D. and A.B. degrees from Harvard University.

Christopher T. Seaver has served as a director of our company since 2008.  Mr. Seaver served as the President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Hydril Co. (Hydril) from February 1997 until Hydril was acquired in May 2007. From 1993 until 1997, Mr. Seaver served as President of Hydril. Mr. Seaver joined Hydril in 1985 and served as Executive Vice President in charge of Hydril’s premium connection and pressure control businesses prior to February 1993. Prior to joining Hydril, Mr. Seaver was a corporate and securities attorney for Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, and was a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State with postings in Kinshasa, Republic of Congo and Bogota, Colombia.

Douglas E. Swanson
has served various roles since 2000, including President, CEO and a director of the company. In 2007 he retired as CEO and remains on our Board of Directors. Prior to Oil States, Mr. Swanson served as President and CEO of Cliffs Drilling Company. He is currently a director of Flint Energy Services (Toronto: FES.TO), an integrated midstream oil and gas production services provider, and is chairman and director of Boots and Coots International Well Control (AMEX: WEL), a worldwide provider of pressure control and emergency response services. Mr. Swanson holds a B.A. from Cornell College and is a Certified Public Accountant.

William T. Van Kleef has served as a director of our company since 2006. His recent career includes various executive management positions at Tesoro Corporation, including President of Tesoro Refining and Marketing, Executive VP and CFO, and then COO. Before Tesoro, Mr. Van Kleef served in various financial and accounting positions with Damson Oil, most recently as Senior VP and CFO. He also is a director of Noble Energy (NYSE: NBL), an independent oil and gas company. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
